Storage and Maintenance

Most Geomorph Terrain products are made from high-density EPS foam. Depending on the style they will have been either finished in flock/static grass or painted with acrylics. It is generally supplied without a base and un-varnished (to keep down the costs!). Whilst fairly resililant, careful handling will give a much greater lifespan. Don't store your terrain on it's edge - keep it flat wherever possible.

The terrain can be made stonger by giving it a coat of gloss varnish and then either a matt varnish or other similar matt product (e.g. Testors Dullcote). Only use products that are suitable for covering acrylics and be wary of using aerosol-based products as they can melt the foam!

Basing the terrain on card/hardboard/mdf etc. will provide much greater protection to the edge against knocks and dents. Use only products that are suitable for gluing foam - low temperature glue guns are ideal.

Repairing Your Terrain

Over time, the edges of your terrain can become dented and even snapped if it is not handled or stored carefully. Foam is fairly elastic and so most small knocks won't make much of a difference. Bigger knocks and marks can be easily covered with a fresh coat of paint. Larger holes can be filled using a filler such as Polyfilla. Thinning or missing static grass can be replaced using a little white glue and a sprinkle of flock / grass. Watered-down glue can be applied with a spray bottle for a nice, even finish.
